This was our 1963 kitchen that needed some TLC. We've lived with this kitchen since 2011. It was time to upgrade.

We have been remodeling our kitchen, and before I reveal the entire kitchen I will share with you one section first, the coffee/wine bar area. I wanted to incorporate open shelving and ship-lap some where in our new design and this was the best spot for it. Here is our before.
When we first moved into our house there were certain things we wanted to change the very first day, like moving our washer and dryer from the kitchen to the basement. I don't know about you but I definitely did not like the idea of cooking and doing laundry in the same place. So hubby used his muscles and brought those babies downstairs. Agh! I thought to myself, so much better. Until we had to go into the dark basement to do laundry. Yikes!!! "One day, one step at a time we are going to have a beautiful laundry room and our laundry days will get a bit more pleasant." Fast forward a few years later and our dream came true. 😊
Here is what the area looked like before we started breaking down our basement walls. Very old, very 1960's. |
