I am so excited to share this project with you. I’ve been dreaming of it for a very long time. It is honestly one of my favorite spots in this house this far. It is perfect, dreamy and full of inspiration.
When we first bought our home the backyard view attracted us the most. So many times we find ourselves gazing out of the window. Especially during sunrise, it is beautiful. So when the idea arissed to create a laptop station around the window, my level of excitement sky rocketed.
I wanted to create a seating area around the fireplace in our living room. But since our fireplace is not in the middle of our wall we were losing so much space by the window. It was wasted space and made our living room look smaller.
So as I was browsing instagram one day, I came across a laptop station post from talented Laura “The Simple Farmhouse” and the inspiration striked.
I had glanced at my partner, my love, my hubby with that “look”, the look that he already knew I wanted something built. So he rolled up his sleeves and started on this project...a few months later of course.
I wanted to create a dreamy, cozy feeling and continue with our modern farmhouse style. So hubby took the same Ash wood we’ve been using throughout the house and started on the laptop table.
To create the dreamy look I was going for, I wanted dimmable vintage bulb lights to hang over the laptop station. So hubby built a box window trim and made that possible as well.
Once everything was installed it was time to paint. The craftsmanship is so beautiful and the space turned out even better than I imagined.
Holes were drilled for desk grommet.
Also a power strip was added to the bottom of the table for easy electrical access.
We added our old book shelf for some storage and a place where we can put our laptops and charge phones.
We used cast iron pipe for legs, for that industrial look.
Morning is my favorite time of the day. Before everyone is up, before the noise, before everything and everyone, it's just me and a cup of coffee at this laptop station, my little escape to paradise.
